I love roses because they are perfect for telling someone you love them. According to William Shakespeare, “A rose by any other name would certainly smell as sweet.” I agree with every word in this quote. The powerful fragrance of roses always stays with you. All of our senses are heightened by roses.

I love roses for many reasons. I love roses because they make an apology seem more sincere. Roses are signs of love and many people receive them on Valentine’s Days, anniversaries, wedding days, and other special events. They make marvelous gifts. Another reason why I love roses is because my grandma grows roses in the front yard so I see, smell, and touch roses all the time. Roses also make great home decorations.

The ‘Double Delight’ rose is my favorite rose. Its fragrance is fruity and sweet. I love this rose because no two are ever alike so then each one is special when you give them to people. The ‘Double Delight’ rose is a great way to tell someone they are one of a kind. I love the colors of the rose, too. The rose starts with a creamy white center and a red frame. As the flower matures, the red expands and there is a burst of color, which my eyes never get tired of seeing.

Roses remind me of many special events. On Valentine’s Day, my dad gave me roses. On my grandma and grandpa’s fiftieth anniversary they got roses as a gift. On my mother’s thirty-seventh birthday my father gave her thirty-seven roses to make that day very special for her.

Roses are special to many people including me. I love roses very much. They are always causing a sensory explosion that I can never forget. Roses are red, violets are blue, my essay is done, and it’s just for you.

I think the rose is America’s National flower for many reasons, one being its many elegant features in nature. I think that because of its fine charm, and magnificent scent, people have started to appreciate its existence. However, not only its because a scent make it admirable, but also its supply of goods that it gives to America. Roses are used in the making of food, perfume, and medicine. Rose hips are sometimes used in the process of making jam, jelly, brewed tea, and syrup. The syrup produced is very rich in vitamins. Rose perfume is made of rose oil and rose water. Rose water is used for cooking, cosmetics, and religious purposes. Also, the rose hip is used as a minor source of vitamin C, and it is being investigated for controlling cancer growth. Roses are used for many other purposes such as decorations, sentimental messages, and enhancing environments. These reasons prove that roses are important to the earth. I believe that people take for granted their beauty and smell and do not realize their usefulness.
